Going Off The Air

Just to let you guys know that I'll be going to ground for an indefinite period.

This morning I got the bad job news I've been dreading for a while, and I'm not sure what the consequences will be yet. Certainly this is not the ideal time to be thrown back out into the job market for anyone, but in a career where positions are so limited my situation is more than grim. At best I will get a job in another part of the country and have to leave everything I have here behind. After I've worked to build this security and fought back from my illness to the point where I could lay down roots and actually feel secure and loved in a place, it's a lot to get my head around from a psychological as well as a financial perspective.

I've been hovering a little over relapse for a few months now, and I'm sure you'll understand that this has the very real potential to tip everything back over the edge. As much as I love hearing about your lives and endeavours, I suspect I may have to take myself away from the Fitosphere for a little while, at least until I'm a bit "safer" in myself.

I want to thank you all for all your comments and support since I started Off The Scale in May, I can't tell you how much you all mean to me.

And I will still be around.

This is not goodbye.

I'm just popping out for a bit.

Love, TA xxxxx

Oh my. This is very sad news! I am so sorry to hear about your job loss and everything that accompanies it! What a terrible feeling. And I absolutely understand about the need to "go to ground" for a bit to make sure you are in a safe and healthy place.

I miss you already, girl. Let me know if there is any way I can help!

I'm so sorry about the bad news. If going to ground means you come back in a safe healthy place, it'll be worth the missing you.

Oh no... That's a whole lot to deal with all at once. I hope that you figure out whatever works for you to be as healthy and happy as possible. I will really miss your daily posts, and your thoughtful comments on my little blog. I know it's not goodbye, but it feels like one. Hope you keep in touch. My email is: siobhantkd (at) gmail.com.

Lots of love and hugs and kisses and cuddles and other nice stuff going your way. xxx

*hugs* I hope you find something good quickly. I don't know how viable a freelance career is for you, but it's something to look into.

Keep in touch, and good luck!

I am so sorry to hear that! I have been lurking here for a few months now and I love your writing. I do not suffer from an ED but I have issues with other mental illnesses & addiction. By just changing a few words, you totally express how I feel sometimes.

I hope you get the help you need to stay healthy. Take as much time as you need for yourself but don't forget the many internet buddies who will be thinking/praying!

I will miss you terribly, but I'm so glad that you are doing what is best for you. *hugs*

It's good that you know what you need. As you can see, your readership genuinely cares for you and wishes you good health, as all good girlfriends would.

I'm going to pretend you're on sabbatical for a while, making things right in your world. "We" your readers hope our paths will cross again someday. Cheers, Conny

TA, that is terrible news.

Just remember all the people who love you, in real life and out here.

As you know I have been having a few job crisis issues too, mine have not got to the stage yours has, but they have made me realise that there is a lot more to life than your job. You will survive - I know you will!

Please look after yourself - we will miss you - hurry back!

Best of luck in both work and health. You have a lot going for you, and I hope when the emotional dust settles, you will find a way to move on from this. I was made redundant a few years ago and can understand the initial futile feelings of rejection and bewilderment. However, in retrospect, I can honestly say it was the best thing that happened to me, and I know wouldn't be doing my dream job if I hadn't been thrown out of my comfy one. Sending you loads of positive vibes.

Just to say, I'm also thinking about you, and I wish you a quick return to a good place!

Oh no, I was hoping this post wouldn't come, I'm so so sorry that you have to go through the job trawling process, no one knows better than I how horribly demoralising it can be, but maybe see it as an opportunity for change? Bigger and brighter??

Please take care of yourself, be good to yourself my darling girl, lunchtime will be lacking without your words of wisdom and wonder.

Check in when you can,
Cara x

Hey TA. I hope you're still checking your comments, as I know you posted this quite a few days ago.

I'm your "midwest fan" and wanted to say I'm sorry about your job situation. I'm thinking about you and hoping that you are able to use that strength I know you have to help you through this tough time. Keep your chin up and fight hard against letting ED get the best of you again.

I just got laid off from my job yesterday... I know the feeling! I'm trying my hardest to use this as a positive opportunity to find a job that I enjoy more and just use it as an opportunity for a nice change. My life was getting a little stale and predictable, so here's to a needed shake-up to the ho-hum routine! (Would be nicer with a guaranteed source of income - ha!)

Anyway, hope to see you back on here soon or even on the other blogs I frequent in the comments. Take care.
